Villa SDI represents a carefully conceived residential project that merges contemporary design with a strong Mediterranean identity. The architecture is defined by clear volumetric expression, a refined material palette, and a thoughtfully articulated relationship between interior and exterior spaces, creating a luxurious living environment tailored to island life.
Relationship with the landscape
Set within the Mediterranean setting of Skrbčići, characterized by natural topography and open views, the villa responds through strategic volume positioning and precise orientation of openings. The composition directs views toward the surrounding landscape while ensuring privacy and optimal microclimatic conditions.
Architectural expression and facades
The exterior reflects a contemporary architectural language defined by controlled geometry and clean lines. The facades employ a neutral material palette that subtly references traditional island architecture, interpreted through a modern design approach. Balanced surfaces and carefully proportioned openings create rhythm and dynamic interaction between light and shadow.
Outdoor living
The exterior spaces are designed to embrace the Mediterranean lifestyle. Spacious terraces, covered lounge areas, and integrated landscaping create a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor environments. These areas define zones for relaxation and social interaction, framed by expansive views and natural surroundings.
Spatial organization
The interior layout is conceived through a clear and logical spatial sequence connecting communal and private zones. An open-plan concept integrates the living room, dining area, and kitchen into a unified spatial experience, while bedrooms and private areas are positioned to ensure comfort, intimacy, and carefully framed views toward the exterior.
Light and dpatial quality
The interiors are oriented toward maximizing natural light, enhancing spatial perception and openness. Large glazed surfaces and sliding walls establish a strong visual connection to the terraces and landscape, while maintaining a balance between transparency and privacy.
Materials and finishes
The interior material palette continues the dialogue established by the exterior. Natural tones and refined textures create warmth and understated sophistication. The integration of high-quality materials contributes to a cohesive aesthetic expression, reinforcing the villa’s contemporary yet contextually sensitive character.
Interior-exterior continuity
Interior and exterior spaces are conceptually continuous, ensuring a fluid spatial experience. The surrounding Mediterranean environment becomes an active component of daily living, allowing residents to experience architecture and landscape as a unified whole.
