The Villa Mon Soleil is designed as a luxury residential home situated on a steep Mediterranean slope with open views of the Adriatic Sea. The architecture is defined by a strong dialogue between contemporary design and the natural landscape, where the articulation of volumes, terraced terrain, and material selection form a cohesive composition of high aesthetic value.
Architectural concept and form
The architectural concept derives from a layered organization of volumes that follow the natural slope of the site. The building is composed as a sequence of horizontally articulated levels, creating a clear yet visually light structure. The upper volume, defined by a clean, monolithic form, appears to float above the lower levels, emphasizing the contemporary character of the villa and creating a strong architectural statement within the landscape. The facades are designed with a minimalist approach, combining smooth, light-colored surfaces with natural stone cladding. Stone walls at the lower levels establish a strong connection to the local building tradition and the terrain, while the contemporary upper volumes introduce contrast and architectural clarity. Large glazed openings provide uninterrupted sea views and allow interior spaces to open fully towards outdoor terraces.
Relationship to the site and landscape
The villa is fully adapted to the steep terrain, which is used to create a cascading sequence of outdoor spaces. Terraces, the swimming pool, and outdoor living areas are organized on multiple levels, forming intimate and sheltered environments with panoramic views. The architecture integrates seamlessly with the landscape through terracing and the use of natural materials rather than imposing itself upon it. Landscape design follows the Mediterranean character of the site, with low vegetation and native plant species enhancing the natural setting and ensuring privacy. The villa is perceived as a contemporary residence immersed in the landscape, where architecture and nature operate as a unified whole.
