Villa Horizon is a contemporary residence located on the slopes of Vrbnik, offering impressive panoramic views of the Kvarner Bay and the Adriatic Sea. The project represents a carefully considered architectural intervention that combines modern design, refined spatial organization, and a strong visual connection with the surrounding landscape. The villa stands out as a contemporary yet contextually sensitive addition to the Mediterranean setting.

Architectural Concept

The villa is conceived as an elegant and dynamically composed structure with clearly defined spatial gestures oriented toward the sea views. Its volumetry is articulated through clean lines and a minimalist approach, emphasizing horizontal and vertical relationships between solid planes and glazed openings. The architectural language is restrained yet expressive, allowing the surrounding landscape to become an integral part of the composition.

Exterior – Form and Context

The exterior of Villa Horizon is characterized by a harmonious balance between solid volumes and transparent surfaces. Large glazed elements contrast with the more compact architectural masses, while strong horizontal articulation aligns the building with the natural horizon of the sea. The positioning of the villa maximizes views and natural light, ensuring that terraces and outdoor living areas function as natural extensions of the interior. The outdoor spaces are carefully integrated into the terrain, reinforcing the fluid relationship between built form and landscape.

Interior – Functionality and Atmosphere

Interior spaces are designed as spacious and light-filled environments organized along a central axis oriented toward the sea. Expansive glass walls create uninterrupted visual connections with the panorama, allowing natural light to permeate the living areas throughout the day. The material palette and finishes contribute to a balanced and sophisticated atmosphere. Natural tones, tactile surfaces, and minimalist detailing create a refined yet comfortable environment that enhances spatial clarity and calmness.

Interior – Exterior Relationship

A defining feature of the project is the seamless transition between interior and exterior spaces. Living areas, terraces, and the swimming pool are arranged to naturally guide residents toward outdoor zones and panoramic views. This spatial strategy reinforces the Mediterranean way of living, where interior and exterior environments merge into a unified living experience.

Materials and Craftsmanship

The architecture reflects a carefully curated palette of materials – a combination of glass, concrete, and natural finishes – resulting in a contemporary yet warm and enduring aesthetic. This material approach ensures visual clarity and longevity while emphasizing the quality of light and spatial proportions.
